Piste Markers
The ski pistes are divided into three categories according to difficulty. Each skier or snowboarder can therefore find out how difficult a piste is beforehand and decide whether to go down it or not.
The ski pistes are classified as follows :
Easy Piste:blue, with gradients up to 25 %
Medium Piste: red, with gradients up to 40 %
Difficult Piste: black, with gradients over 40 %
The well-established „Avalanche Hand“ in Austria warns of off piste avalanche dangers. These warning signs are also placed where there is a general avalanche danger all season.
